Movin’
This debut offering from Al Turner is one that really draws
the listener in. From the funky opening track “Stop
Watch”, which features Saxophonist Everette Harp
to the inspirational “Your Will”, featuring Oleta
Adams. The Earl Klugh inspired song “Te'
Quiero” features the Grammy winning guitarist himself.
Paul Jackson, Jr., one of the most recorded guitarist
of our time, contributes on several tracks - most notably
his solo on “Bassin”. Ron Otis plays drums on
six of the tunes. Vernon D. Fails, Leroy Hyter, Charles
Scales, Al McKenzie & Russell Taylor contribute very
fine keyboard work throughout the CD. Saxophonist Lenny
Price and Randy Scott are featured on “Forever
Love” and “I’ll Follow You” respectively.
Guitarist DeSabata Robinson adds funky guitar licks
to seven songs. Wayne Gerard and Al’s older brother
Failon L. Turner also play guitar on several tracks.
Ryan Scott, The Ridgeway Sisters & Key Bullard
contribute background vocals on “Autumn Nights” &
“It’s Good To Have Friends”. Percussionist Mark
Whitsett lends his talent to the island inspired
“Paradise”.
